One of the few poems for pre-school kids in China , and taught again in grade 9th, high-school. The poem was an easy picturesque poem for kids, also a best example of the Tang poem to reveal the classic poem writing techniques , a pleasant and profound poem to recite with aftertaste in elder age.
This poem is the 3rd poem written in a row by Du Fu, depicts his wonderful rurial home outside of ChengDu city, so called the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu (杜甫草堂) and Flower Washing Creek(浣花溪) today. This place is a famous public park now.
With comparison of his other poems written in Chengdu, this poem was further explored beyond its lively and beautiful scenic view. Some other poems are referenced to, they are 绝句二首, 春夜喜雨, 茅屋为秋风所破歌, 江上逢李龟年.

杜甫
两个黄鹂鸣翠柳，
一行白鹭上青天。
窗含西岭千秋雪，
门泊东吴万里船。
