Chinese poem illustration: 哥舒歌/ Song for General Geshu by Anonymous

Apparently originated from a fork song during the Prosperous Tang period(盛唐), this simple and crispy rhythm poem depicts the mighty military power of the time and also the gratefulness toward the famous general Geshu Han(哥舒翰), one of the many famous central asians who lived ,worked and served in the Tang empire.

This poem could be a very political correct poem per looking into the poem from the angle of classic chinese astrology or astronomy, which two actually is one thing in ancient China. This interpretation of astrology is analysed at the end of the video

西鄙人

北斗七星高,
哥舒夜带刀。
至今窥牧马,
不敢过临洮。
