While with going through the whole poem and the history background, the first sentence in each paragraph is full of meaning by double refering. The sentence pattern 山有A, 隰有B is one of the de facto format of starting sentence in State Wind(国风), this poem is one of the best example to utilize this format fully and wisely. 枢 could double refer to 叔, 榆 double refer to 媮or妪, thus these two characters together refer to brothers and women. 栲 and 杻 refers to 考 and 丑 which means passed away father and people. 漆 and 栗 correspond to 泣 and 罹. Character 宛 is further anaylsed which leads to a new interpretation.

Chinese poem illustration: 唐风 山有枢/ Tang Wind – Shu Trees on Mount by Anonymous Full video also available at Bilibili: 唐风 山有枢 The lengendary Jin state(晋国), where the Tang Wind came fromRead More…

[4691,705,558,973
3445,1021,3878,1012,1020,3875,3919,2331,3846,2659,3881,3883,3882,3922,3884,3877,3920,3921,3847,3885,3876,3880,3879
post-6959","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-of-songs","category-705","category-history-2","category-973","tag-book-of-odes","tag-book-of-songs","tag-3878","tag-1012","tag-fanmandarin","tag-quwo-replace-yi","tag-shan-you-shu","tag-shijing","tag-tang-wind","tag-2659","tag-3881","tag-3883","tag-3882","tag-3922","tag-3884","tag-3877","tag-3920","tag-3921","tag-3847","tag-3885","tag-3876","tag-3880","tag-3879
["GET
